Low-shedding Goldendoodles
One of the most wonderful characteristics of the Goldendoodle is their beautiful coat. At Cheristone Doodles we produce puppies who have loose curly to tight curly coats with low-shedding properties.
WHAT IS A LOW-SHEDDING GOLDENDOODLE?
A low-shedding Goldendoodle is one who’s coat doesn’t shed like typical dog hair. This may mean no noticeable shedding, or a very minimal amount of hair.
Features of a low-shedding doodle coat include:
No hair shed or minimal amount of hair shed
Shedding unlikely when the dog is stroked or brushes against clothing or furniture
Small amount of hair likely to be found in the brush when being groomed
Requirement for regular grooms and trims to keep the coat mat-free and comfortable
To achieve this coat type, puppies need certain gene combinations that come from the Poodle.
Preserving these genes correctly when mixed with Golden Retriever / Labrador, gives Goldendoodle puppies ‘furnishings’ – the long eyebrows, beard and moustache essential to the Goldendoodle look – and curly hair with anything from a gentle wave to a tighter curl.
